• Sea Breeze is a leader in the rapidly emerging green energy industry; our portfolio of generation and transmission assets leverages the growing clean energy markets along the North American West Coast.
• British Columbia is recognized as having a vast potential for wind energy and run-of-river hydroelectricity development. Sea Breeze has projects covering 180,000 hectares including some of the most desirable sites in BC. We have already obtained environmental approvals for a 100 MW wind project and a 25 MW hydroelectric project, which represent significant achievements in the development of our projects.
• Sea Breeze’s 100 MW Knob Hill wind farm on Vancouver Island was the first wind farm in BC to receive an Environmental Assessment Certificate. We have collected wind speed data for more than 5 years at the site. A minimum of 1 year is needed for assessing the potential of a wind farm site.
• The Juan de Fuca Cable is a 550 MW electricity transmission project that has been approved by both Canadian and US Federal authorities. It utilizes state-of-the-art High Voltage Direct Current (“HVDC”) Light® technology. Unlike traditional AC lines, HVDC Light® cable can be easily buried underground, has no fluctuating EMFs and bears a low environmental impact. This project would create a critical link between the growing markets for renewable energy along the West Coast and BC’s abundant green power potential.
• Sea Breeze has developed substantial in-house capabilities in meteorology, project siting and project permitting. We have experienced, qualified and committed members on our Board and our team are both passionate and committed to affecting positive environmental changes through our operations.
