Newcastle Ridge is located northwest of Sayward, British Columbia, above Johnston Strait on the east side of Vancouver Island. This site borders the Regional District of Mt. Waddington and the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona.
This high ridge on which the project is to be situated is the tallest land feature in the immediate area and takes advantage of strong winds coming off the nearby Johnston Strait. The site has been shown to host wind speeds of 6 to 8 meters/second on the computer generated "True Wind" model for British Columbia.
